ACCORDING TO HOWARD: A NEW MUSICAL

A new musical about a man who lived in the clouds.

We were commissioned to create the title treatment and key art for According to Howard, a bold and glittering take on the life of Howard Hughes. Aviator, filmmaker, and obsessive dreamer.

The brief called for something that evoked Hughes’ relentless ambition and his head-in-the-clouds worldview. We drew on art deco styling, golden age Hollywood, and mid-century design cues, while carefully avoiding pastiche. The final image is part portrait, part mirage. A man made of sky, ambition, and maybe a little madness.

We explored several routes before landing on this one, which felt like the right blend of elegance, melancholy, and lift.
